Experience sustainability in the Sustain2030® SDG simulation game
Dive in: Shape sustainable transformation in the Sustain2030® SDG simulation game—interactive, engaging, and holistic.
Sustainable development concerns us all. The award-winning Sustain2030® SDG simulation game allows participants to engage with the framework of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a playful way, fosters the ability to see things from different perspectives and to collaborate across disciplines, and provides concrete strategies for implementing the SDGs on an individual level. The simulation focuses on collaboration, with participants discussing and deciding on appropriate measures from different roles.
The simulation is suitable for events, educational and participatory formats in companies, organizations, and municipalities, as well as in teaching. The Sustain2030® SDG simulation can be flexibly adapted to different formats and settings. In this Train the Trainer seminar, we’ll show you how to use the SDG simulation effectively. As the facilitator of the simulation, you’ll introduce the topic, guide the gameplay phase, and support participants in reflection and knowledge transfer.
Turn your events, formats, and seminars on sustainability into a powerful experience with the Sustain2030® SDG simulation!
Why was the Sustain2030® SDG Simulation Game created? What content and sources underpin it? What are the game’s objectives? What is systems thinking, and how is this approach implemented in the Sustain2030® SDG Simulation Game? How does the Sustain2030® SDG Simulation Game interpret the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and what is the connection to the Inner Development Goals (IDGs)?
We will discuss these and other topics in the first module, equipping you with all the relevant (background) information you need to successfully conduct a Sustain2030® SDG simulation workshop.
In this module, you will receive an overview and a detailed introduction to the simulation interface and all simulation materials. Together, we will explore the objectives for using the Sustain2030® SDG Simulation and how you can best integrate the simulation into your training programs. You will also learn about the various ways the simulation can be used and its licensing models. We’ll also discuss how to engage different target audiences, and you’ll receive valuable tips for preparing your simulation workshops (timing, space requirements, group assignments, etc.).
Now that you have become thoroughly familiar with the simulation game, this module will help you gain an even deeper understanding of your role as a facilitator. We will discuss how to best support the group and what you need to keep in mind when running the simulation game yourself.
We will pay particular attention to the debriefing of the simulation game, as this is where participants process and reflect on their experience and apply it to their daily lives. We will show you various formats and methods you can use to make the participants’ learning journey interactive and engaging.
The versatility of the Sustain2030® SDG simulation game allows you to set different priorities in your simulation workshop and tailor the learning objectives. This enables you to both delve deeper into specific topics and focus on building methodological skills:
By participating in this seminar, you will receive personal access to the simulation game to help you prepare for its use. This access is initially valid for one year and is automatically renewed when simulation game workshops are conducted.
The license fees for conducting the Sustain2030® SDG simulation game depend on the number of participants and the intended use. For larger groups, regular simulation game workshops, or internal organizational use of the simulation game, license packages are available for purchase. Please contact us for more information.
