The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) in Practice
Take Action: Drive the sustainable transformation of your organization through the IDGs.
In 2015, the United Nations (UN) adopted the 2030 Agenda—an action plan for sustainable development that calls on everyone to act sustainably. At its core are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a comprehensive and globally recognized framework for a sustainable future. The UN insists that all SDGs must be considered equally important and that no goal should be achieved at the expense of another. No easy task.
So how can the SDGs be applied in practice, and how do they support corporate development? Behind the 17 “tiles” of the SDGs lie comprehensive future-oriented themes that can be translated into the corporate or organizational context. The SDGs thus provide us with a compass to help us navigate the jungle of possibilities for the sustainable development of companies and organizations without losing sight of the big picture and the ultimate goal: economic success in harmony with a healthy environment and a fair society.
In this seminar, you’ll get to know the SDGs through the award-winning Sustain2030® simulation in an interactive and engaging way, gain new perspectives on them, tackle the challenge of sustainability, and take away practical methods to make your company or organization future-proof.
In the first module, you will receive an introduction to the background of sustainability and the 2030 Agenda, including the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You will learn about the systemic approach of the SDGs and discover how to integrate sustainability into the day-to-day operations of your company or organization.
In the Sustain2030® simulation game, you’ll experience the systemic approach of the SDGs as a citizens’ assembly, with the goal of improving sustainable development in Germany. Using the Sustain2030® method and tool, the SDGs can be adapted to your specific context and used as a foundation for developing a sustainability strategy. Through collaborative work, holistic action strategies for addressing the SDGs are developed.
Following the simulation exercise, you will identify the SDG topics relevant to your specific organization or company. You will learn about the “SDG System Map” method, which allows you to apply the SDGs holistically to specific issues. This will help you develop effective measures while taking potential risks into account.
